On another miserable morning in October, I am going to be talking about sound tracks used in opening scenes of post apocalyptic films. The music is always sad and depressing. It is always has a slow tempo ans quite a low pitch. soundtracks are a key role for setting the mood of the film. Furthermore the soundtracks often portray the emotion of the character, which can make the audience sympathize with the protagonist.

As you can see from the chopped clip the music complies with the conventions I have already wrote about. For example, it is sad and depressing and helps create sympathy for the character. This particular soundtrack is played on piano, adding extra effect as it is the only instrument used. This illustrates the protagonist loneliness; 1 instrument and 1 man.
